Maxine Lawrence Popham

Maxine Lawrence Popham was born July 1, 1929 in Mason, Kentucky and passed away April 3, 2024 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 94.  She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Cleo Dunn Lawrence.

Maxine was a farmer and homemaker and was always a hard worker.  Earlier in life she enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress and always loved cooking.  She was an avid sports fan, always cheering for her local favorite teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Basketball.  Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, whether that was at Williamstown Lake or sitting on her front porch watching the neighbors pass by.

On May 28, 1948 Maxine was united in marriage to Ronald Dale Popham who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1986.  She is survived by two sons, Dennis Dale Popham (Debbie) of Williamstown and Terry Wayne Popham (Mary Jane) of Edgewood; four grandchildren, Melissa Calabrese (Mark), Lauren Cottengim (Sean), Jonathan Popham (Morgan) and Bradley Popham; and four great grandchildren, Ava Calabrese, Jack Calabrese, Everett Cottengim and Hayden Cottengim.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.

Maxine was a devoted, lifelong member at the Fairview Christian Church in Williamstown, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Fairview Christian Church Building Fund, 495 Fairview Rd., Williamstown, KY  41097.
