Michael (Tank) Ray Hammond , 71, a Corinth, KY resident died after a lengthy illness on Saturday morning June 10, 2023 at his residence. Born August 27, 1951 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Donald Lee and Betty Lou Deitz Adams.
On December 14, 1979 “Tank”, as he was affectionately known, was united in marriage to the former Ronda Sue Cook; she survives. He was a 1969 graduate of Grant Co. High School. He worked for Van Lear Manufacturing for many years. Fishing, hunting, playing cards and driving his muscle cars were among his favorite hobbies and interest but he will best be remembered as being an avid coonhunter; he took much interest and devoted many years teaching his grandchildren and others the art of hunting coons.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ronda Sue Hammond; one daughter: Louanna Sheen Hammond of Corinth; one son: Adam (Ashley) Edward Hammond of Glencoe; one brother: Jeffrey Wade Hammond of Georgetown along with seven grandchildren: Morgan (Dalton) Marksberry, Brennan Hammond, Elijah Hammond, Nevaeh Hammond, Blayden Hammond, Bentley Hammond, Brody Hammond and one great-grandson: Hayes Allen Marksberry, all of whom lovingly called him "Papaw"..
Visitation will be Wednesday June 14, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Burial will follow in New Columbus Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Dalton Marksberry, Anthony Cook, Mike Oerther, Christopher Stanley, Doug McIntosh, Mike O’Hara and Ricky O’Neil.
