Nancy Ruth Cavins

Mrs. Nancy Ruth Cavins of Mt. Zion, KY. passed away Tuesday, April 27 at the age of 89.  Mrs. Cavins was born April 9, 1932 in Mt. Zion, KY. to the late Johnson Pettit and Vella Lou Franks Pettit.  Mrs. Cavins was a lifelong homemaker and farmer and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  Mrs. Cavins enjoyed working on the farm and in her garden and she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  In her free time Mrs. Cavins enjoyed reading.  Many years past, Mrs. Cavins had worked at the ball factory when it was in Williamstown, KY.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Cavins was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Cavins in December, 1994.  She was also preceded in death by a brother: Lawrence Pettit and by sisters: Mary Mildred Pettit and Jean Menefee.

Mrs. Cavins is survived by a daughter: Diane Brummer and her husband Jon of Florence, KY., 3 sons: Larry Wayne Cavins and his wife Connie of Mt. Zion, KY., Barry Cavins of Mt. Zion, KY., David Cavins of Mt. Zion, KY., 5 grandchildren: Susan Hollar, Melissa McGuire, Justin Cavins, Crystal Cavins, Christie Cavins and she has numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ruth Cavins will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, May 1 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 South Main Street, Crittenden, KY. 41030.  Visitation will also be there on Saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cavins Family, in care of the funeral home.
