Nola Stamper Dixon was born October 27, 1930 in Breathitt Co., Kentucky and passed away December 28, 2022 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Pearl and Lydia Gilbert Stamper.
Nola retired from the Florence Walmart after 23 years of service in the fabric department. She was a member of the Verona fire department ladies auxiliary and she was on the first volunteer emergency squad as an EMT in Verona.
Her husband, Ira De Dixon, preceded her in death in 1991. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dean Dixon; a grandson, Shannon Gene Dixon; two stepsons, Dale and Donald Dixon; four brothers, Willie Stamper, Wilson Stamper, Floyd Stamper and John West Stamper; and three sisters, Leudemia Sebastian, Maxline Combs and Mandy James.
She is survived by two sons: Gene Larkin Dixon of Verona and Richard De Dixon (Wanzhen Huang) of Florence; two daughters: Sandra Lynn Dixon Maxwell (Steven) of York, PA and Barbara Ann Dixon of Verona; eight grandchildren: Rhonda Dixon, Michael Dixon, Angie Bishop, Christopher Maxwell, Cara Robison, Stephanie Fisk and Robert Dean Stamper, II; two stepsons: Warren Dixon of New York and Gerald Delmar Dixon of Taylor Mill; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
