Nora Lee Shipp

Mrs. Nora Lee Shipp of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Friday, February 5 at the Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach, Florida at the age of 88.  Mrs. Shipp was born May 28, 1932 in Knox County, KY. to the late Finley Hubbard and Maggie Brock Hubbard.  Mrs. Shipp was a retired secretary for the Grant County Board of Education and served there for 22 years.  Mrs. Shipp was a longtime active member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church where she served as Elder and was a former Board Chairperson for the church.  She enjoyed golf and was a charter member and former board member of the Eagle Creek Country Club.  She was a member of the Williamstown Women's Club and the Christian Women's Fellowship.  In her spare time Mrs. Shipp enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking.

On December 31, 1955 Mrs. Shipp was united in marriage to the late Kline D. Shipp.  Mr. Shipp passed away January 13, 2019.  In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a great grandson: Aiden Michael Kells.  She was also preceded in death by six of her siblings: Genevieve, Roberta, Thomas, Ivis, Kenneth and Douglas.

Mrs. Shipp is survived by a daughter: Leisa L. Shipp of Florence, KY., a son: Scott D. Shipp and his wife Sherry of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 sisters: Norma Czyz and her husband Chester of Chicago, IL., Peggy King of Union, KY., 2 brothers: Joel Hubbard and his wife Eleanor of Williamstown, KY., Lowell Hubbard of Florida, 3 grandchildren: John Michael Kells and his wife Missy of Union, KY., Joshua Shipp and his wife Lauren of Dry Ridge, KY., Lindsey Shipp of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 great grandchildren: Drew Janszen and Josh Janszen.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Lee Shipp will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, February 13 at the Dry Ridge Christian Church with Rev. Timothy Polley officiating.  Visitation will also be on Saturday, February 13 at the church from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.  If memorials contributions are desired they may be directed to the Dry Ridge Christian Church.  The Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home of Dry Ridge has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mrs. Nora Lee Shipp.
