Norma Christine Griffith

Norma Christine Moore Griffith , 92, of Union, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 11, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.   Born on September 13, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late William Gaylord and Mary Frances Todd Moore.

On October 29, 1948, she was united in marriage to Howard Raymond Griffith; he preceded her in death on December 20, 2017, after 69 years of marriage. She was a faithful and dedicated housewife and homemaker always providing a wholesome environment to her family.  Working in her flower garden, reading and watching her favorite westerns were among her treasured pastimes but nothing could parallel with the time she enjoyed with her family, especially her grandkids, who lovingly called her “Grandma”.  Her legacy will include her hard-work ethics, being a good, funny and kind-hearted person, who had a world of stories she loved telling to family and friends.

Norma will forever be remembered by her two sons: Howard Wayne (Linda) Griffith of Florence, Mark Alan (Susan) Griffith of Union; her daughter: Carol Susan (Gary) Osborne of Union, her brother: William “Jerry” Moore of Idaho along with eight grandchildren: Kelly McAdams, Katie Griffith, Ashley (Brandon) Catchen, Brittany (Joe) Allen, Emilie Griffith, Joshua Griffith, Kristin (Jimmy) Sevier, Bradley Osborne; 11 great-grandchildren: Taylor (Noah) Richardson, Maggie (Preston) Forsee, Trevor Turner, Gracie Palmer, Matthew McAdams, Darby Catchen, Olive Catchen, Theo Catchen, Drake Allen, Isiah Allen, Kingsley Allen and two great-great-grandchildren: Westyn Richardson and Blakely Richardson.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Shannon (Travis) Turner and two sisters: Helen Ann Thompson and Margie  Tomer

Visitation will be Tuesday April 16, 2024 from 12 Noon till 2:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home – Verona.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00.  She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Howard Raymond in New Bethel Cemetery.

A reception in Norma’s honor and memory will be held, following the interment, at 2354 Hathaway Rd. Union, KY. 41097. Memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s memory to: Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY  41042.
