Norma Jean Walters

April 13, 1937 — September 26, 2021

Jean Walters, 84, of Williamstown, KY, died Sunday September 26, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.  Born April 13, 1937 in Pendleton County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Taft and Gertrude Mae Hyatt McClurg.

On December 11, 1954, Jean was united in marriage to Rev. Charlie B. Walters, she was his helpmate in ministry throughout all the years; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2001.  In 2009 she retired from St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Grant (formerly Grant Co. Memorial Hospital) as a registration clerk after 35 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and as a gifted pianist, she loved playing for the Walter’s Family Quartet. She was a graduate of Butler High School and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Jean leaves to carry on her legacy, two daughters: Vicki (Clinton) Perry of Dry Ridge, KY, Lori B. (Kenneth) Henry of Crittenden, KY;  one son: Rev. Charles Lee “Chuck” Walters of Williamstown, KY and one brother: Jerry McClurg of Crittenden, KY.  She was affectionately known as “G-ma” to her five grandchildren: C.J. (Tina)   Walters, Caleb (Sheena) Walters, Taylor (Heather) Henry, Isaac Walters and Kassidy (Todd) Bullinger, and her seven great-grandchildren: Peyton Walters, Emerson Walters, Greyson Walters, Croix Walters, Crew Walters, Abbie Haar and Bella Haar.  She was preceded in death by two brothers: Leo McClurg, Michael McClurg and one sister: Loretta Lavender.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 29, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown location); Rev. Josh Cummins will be the officiant.  Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery .
