Norma Dawalt Lawrence

Mrs. Norma Dawalt Lawrence of Florence, KY. and formerly of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Friday, November 16 at the Rosedale Green Nursing Home in Covington, KY. at the age of 88. Mrs. Lawrence was born March 17, 1930 in Pendleton County, KY. to the late Leland Dawalt and Ora Caldwell Dawalt. Mrs. Lawrence was retired from Cincinnati Bell where she worked for many years as a telephone operator and equipment cleaner. Mrs. Lawrence was a devoted member of the Sherman Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including Baptist Women, as a worker in Vacation Bible School and Kingdom Kids. In her spare time Mrs. Lawrence enjoyed fishing, playing cards with her family, working in her garden and furniture restoration. Mrs. Lawrence was also an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. In addition to her church membership Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the Grant County Extension Homemakers and the Telephone Girls.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband, John Tyler Lawrence in 1970, by brother, John F. Dawalt and by a sister, Geneva Dawalt Hisel.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by 2 daughters: Janie Loney and her husband Wayne of Corydon, Indiana and Rosie Allen and her husband Dan of Edgewood, KY., a sister: Jean Ruby of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 grandchildren: Tyler Allen and his wife Heather and Laura Allen. She also has 2 great grandchildren: Presley Allen and Morgan Allen.

Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Dawalt Lawrence will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, November 19 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge, KY. 41035. Visitation will be there on Monday from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.
