Norman "Frank" Smiley

Norman “Frank” Smiley , age 91, passed away Friday November 20, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Hebron, KY.  Born June 15, 1929 in Bobtown, (Pulaski, County) KY, he was the son of the late Sam and Marcella (Petry) Smiley.

He retired as a Diesel Mechanic for OK Trucking in Sharonville, OH.  Frank proudly served his country during the Korean War in both the U.S. Army and Air Force.  He attended Grace Baptist Church in Florence, KY. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was often referred to as the baby whisperer.  He was a great storyteller and loved to share his memories with his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elma “Doris” (Cook) Smiley, his four daughters: Ann (Jeff) Ruby of Burlington, KY, Sue Branscum Patrick of Butler, KY, Lorna (Bob) Dirr of Independence, KY, Alice (Jeff) Flick of Hebron, KY; two sons: Jim (Donna) Smiley of Hebron, KY, John (Teresa) Smiley of Independence, KY; four brothers: Lester Smiley, John Smiley, Jerry Smiley and Kevin Smiley.

Fourteen grandchildren also survive: Chad, Christie, Samantha, Ryan, Johnny, Amanda, Bobbie, James, Erin, Cameron, Scott, Mellisa, Katy and Justin, along with 19 Great-grandchildren: Coby, Ella, Isaiah, Lillie, Riece, Caleb, Hadley, Skylee, Jasmine, Elijah, Norman, John, Ethan, Reagan, Tanner, Madi, Wyatt, Charlotte and Orrin.  He was preceded in death by four siblings: Dorothy French, Amos Smiley, Ellis Smiley and Joyce Smiley.

Private Gravesite services with full Military Honors will be conducted Monday November 30, 2020 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) in Williamstown, KY at 1:00 p.m. with Grandson: Chad Dalton officiating.
