Patricia "Pat" Wilson Ahlfeld

Madeline Patricia “Pat” Wilson Ahlfeld , 92, of Colonial Gardens in Florence, KY, entered into her eternal home on Monday March 18, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care surrounded by her loving family.   Born on November 28, 1931 in Peru, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late George E. and Elizabeth Brice Wilson. On June 2, 1950, she was united in marriage to James Ernest Ahlfeld. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2018. Their deep Lutheran faith led them to start the Zion Lutheran Church in Wabash, Indiana. Later in life, they were instrumental in starting the Emmanual Lutheran Church in Grant County, Ky. Pat was a graduate of Chippewa High School in rural Wabash, Indiana. For many years she was employed by Honeywell Industries, where she built bomber sights for airplanes and heating thermostats.  Pat's bouyant, loving and caring personality endeared her to everyone that knew her.  Because of her love for helping people, in later years, she served as a host at the Kentucky Visitors Center in Covington. Spending time with family and friends, playing Pinochle, Euchre and being a caregiver to many in need brought her much joy and satisfaction. She was a member for many years of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora, Indiana where the service will be held.

Carrying on her legacy of love and compassion are her two sons: Douglas James (Leslie) Ahlfeld of Churubusco, IN and Robert Eugene (Barbara) Ahlfeld of Florence, KY, along with seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called her “Grandma”. In addition to her husband, James Ernest Ahlfeld, she was preceded in death by all her siblings: Lavelle (Wilson) Peas, Arvella (Wilson) Myers, Colene (Wilson) Porter, Milford Wilson and Ron Wilson.

Visitation will be Saturday March 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. till 12 Noon at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora, IN. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with Pastor Mark Hesse officiating.  Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery in Williamstown, KY.
