Penny Austin Lawrence

Penny Lowe Austin Lawrence, born June 13, 1947, in Covington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on October 23, 2024, in Williamstown, Kentucky, at the age of 77. She was the cherished daughter of the late Homer Lee Austin, Jr. and Wanda Lowe Austin.

On May 20, 1967, Penny married her beloved husband, John Carroll Lawrence, who preceded her in death in February 2023. She is survived by two devoted sons: John Christopher Sparks Lawrence and his wife, Susan, and William Andrew Dawson Lawrence and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Williamstown. Penny also leaves behind her brother, Richard “Dick” Austin and his wife, Nancy; two granddaughters, Bridgette Danielle Lawrence, and Morgan Elizabeth Lawrence; and a niece, Gina Austin Smith.

A proud graduate of Williamstown High School in 1965, Penny went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Morehead State University. She devoted over 20 years to the Williamstown Independent School, serving various administrative roles. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was a dedicated member of the Williamstown Baptist Church.

Penny took immense joy in nurturing her hummingbirds, ensuring their feeders were always filled. She looked forward to taking part in her women’s Bible study and Bible Study Fellowship every Wednesday morning. Traveling, especially to Florida with her husband, brought much joy, but her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The family will have a private burial service on Monday.

Penny’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
