Ramona Souder Peddicord

Ramona Souder Peddicord, a Florence resident and formerly of Williamstown, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the age of 88.  She was the widow of the late Dudley Peddicord.

Ramona was born on April 29, 1936 to the late Omer and Stella J. Hammond Souder.  She graduated from Grant Co. High School where she was a cheerleader and later was part of a dance team.  She married Dudley Peddicord on May 4, 1957 and from this union was born a son and daughter whom survive.  She worked early in life for Dr.'s Chipman and Waldrop as an administrative assistant and was often found assisting with medical procedures.  She went on to work for the City of Williamstown as an assistant clerk for 17yrs and then worked for the County of Grant for several years with the election board.  She was a lifelong member of the Williamstown Christian Church where she was often found singing in the choir and had a love of music.  She taught Sunday School for over 30years.  Ramona enjoyed vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains.  She was known locally for her holiday decorations around her house and her family absolutely loved her home cooked holiday meals.  She loved her children, grandchildren and her church family.  She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whom knew and loved her.

Ramona is survived by one son, Mark W. (Linda) Peddicord of Walton, KY, one daughter, Susan L. Snellen of Robertsdale, AL, one brother, Larry (Carol) Souder, granddaughter Amanda Greenwald, a step grand-son Paul Snellen and three great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dudley, one brother, Gary Souder, one sister Bonnie Miller and son in law Bruce Snellen.

Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10am-12noon at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will be at 12noon.  Pastor Tim Schelling will be officiating.  Procession and burial will follow at the Williamstown Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Williamston Christian Church.
