Ramona Jean White

Jean Roberts Shetler White was born June 15, 1920 in Verona, Kentucky and passed away June 29, 2021 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 101.  She was the daughter of the late John Tom and Ura Alice McElroy Roberts.

Jean was a retired elementary school teacher and a member of the Elsmere Baptist Church.  She was an avid piano player and always loved singing in church.  He greatest joy came from spending time with and taking care of her great grandchildren.

Jean was united in marriage to David White who preceded her in death in 1997.  Additionally she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers: Wayne and George Roberts; and her 2 sisters: Lillian Chapman and Helen Steele.

She is survived by 2 sons: Terry Shetler of Florence and Thomas Shetler of Bravard, NC; a granddaughter: Jami (Alan) Johnson of Florence; and 6 great grandchildren: Ryan (Savannah) Johnson of Taylor Mill, Sam Johnson of New York City, Hannah Johnson of Taylor Mill, Luke Johnson of Florence, Abby Johnson of Taylor Mill and Carly Johnson of Florence.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S. Loop Rd., Edgewood, KY  41017.

The family has also requested that due to Lung Health Concerns of her son, Terry Shelter, guests are askedd to wear masks and avoid close contact such as hugging.
