Ray Burdine

Mr. Elmer Ray Burdine of Crittenden, KY. passed away Sunday, November 7 after a brief illness at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY. at the age of 61.  Ray, as he was known to family and friends, was born August 2, 1960 in Cincinnati, OH. to the late Mildred McDaniel Burdine and William Alvin Burdine.  Ray was a truck driver and worked for Roadway Express.  Ray loved being outdoors and riding his motorcycle.  He was also a big sports fan and really enjoyed watching and cheering for the University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball team.  Ray is most fondly remembered for his love of his children and grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, William Alvin Burdine and by his mother, Mildred McDaniel Burdine Kersey.

On May 11, 1982 Ray was united in marriage to his wife Charlotte Ann Harlow Burdine and his wife of nearly 40 years survives.  Ray is also survived by daughters: Anna Burdine of Crittenden, KY., Kayla Burdine of Georgetown, KY., Sarah Burdine of Dry Ridge, KY, Emily Burdine of Dry Ridge, KY., Jessica Burdine of Falmouth, KY., sons: James Burdine of Dry Ridge, KY., Jason Burdine of Florence, KY., Jonathan Burdine of Dry Ridge, KY., sisters: Teresa Frost of Palm Coast, FL., Debby Hensley of London, KY., brothers: Johnny Burdine of Lexington, KY., Rick Burdine of LaGrange, KY., Rodney Burdine of Crittenden, KY., Scott Burdine of Lebanon, OH., Danny Burdine of London, KY.  Ray has 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Ray Burdine will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 12 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge, KY. 41035.  Visitation will be there on Thursday, Nov. 11 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.  Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
