In October of 1990, she was united in marriage to Donald Milton Cogswell; he preceded her in death on November 3, 2016.

Rebecca attended Oneonta State Teachers College and moved to California in 1957. For many years she served as a Trade Liaison for First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles, California.  Rebecca used her love of music by singing in multiple chorale groups, choirs and Sweet Adelines. She was a leader in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League Baseball and was PTA President. Most recently, she was a member of Crittenden Baptist Church and loved Jesus with a passion. Previously, she was a member of Arcadia Community Church (previously Arcadia Presbyterian Church) where she was a church Elder and Worship Chairman. Being a lover of animals, she took an interest in feeding feral cats and all wildlife, and in general; she also enjoyed playing games with her friends, putting together scrapbooks and playing the piano. One of her greatest joys was organizing “Camp Cogswell”, a day camp for her grandchildren to attend.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Michael Markoski of Fullerton, CA, Daniel (Petra) Markoski of San Dimas, CA; one daughter: Diana (Rex) Tonan of Crittenden, KY; two sisters: Lois Burr and Deborah Snell, along with 10 grandchildren: Matthew Markoski, Michael (Kasey) Markoski, Jeffrey (Shaylee) Markoski, Thomas Markoski, James (Jordan) Markoski, Amanda (Bobby) Crooker, Victoria Tonan, Bryceton Markoski, Brantley Markoski, and Sophia Markoski and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Barbara Layden and Martha Rufenacht.
