Redford "Bubby" Thomas, Jr.

Redford "Bubby" Thomas, Jr., 93, of Warsaw, KY, entered his eternal home on Saturday November 30, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital.  Born on October 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Redford Sr. and Lura Mae Stewart Thomas.

On January 9, 1953 in Vevay, IN, "Bubby" was united in marriage to the former Carol Ruth Brashear, a union that lasted 59 years; she preceded him in death on May 19, 2012.  In October of '53, he entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Upon his discharge, he was in the 402d QM Battalion Motor Pool.  Being a lifetime farmer, he proved to be a good steward of the land and tilling the soil of the land he loved so dearly, fueled much of his inspiration in life.  For over 40 years he served on the Board of Directors of Gallatin County Farm Federation.  He was a familiar face every morning with the Crittenden McDonalds Club.  Being a committed Christian, he was a faithful member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church.

Bubby leaves behind, to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, one son: Randy Paul (Florence) Thomas of Walton, KY; four granddaughters: Ashley Thomas, Whitney (Trista) Thomas, Brittany (Todd) Rassman and Cassie Smith, along with a great grandson: Colton Rassman, all of whom lovingly called him "Grandpa Bubby".  In addition to his wife, Carol Ruth Thomas, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Thomas; and three sisters: Juanita O'Brien, Thelma Donahue and Mary Rose Flynn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 4-8 PM at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona. Funeral Services will resume Wednesday Morning at 9 and go until the time of the funeral at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kerry Dale Spencer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in "Bubby's" memory to Ten Mile Baptist Church, 1780 Tapering Pointe Rd., Glencoe, KY 41046.

Serving as pallbearers are: Mike Haddix, Montell Haddix, Gayle Reed, Larry Flynn, Todd Rassman, Whitney Thomas, Brittany Rassman and Colton Rassman.
