Reva Dell Mefford , 89, of Nicholasville, KY, formerly of Williamstown, entered into her eternal home on Sunday June 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 12, 1934 in Grant Co. KY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mae Belle Limerick Odor.
On October 30, 1954, “Dell” was united in marriage to Bro. Quince Thomas Mefford; he survives. She was a graduate of Mason High School; afterwards, she attended Cincinnati Bible College. For 29 years she was employed as a Principle Clerk-Stenographer for the State of Kentucky Family Services. Her loving and caring personality caused her to be endeared by everyone that knew her. She will lovingly be remembered as the matriarch of the family; she got much enjoyment from her baking skills, particularly the freshly baked bread she made every week, along with the many crafts she made…only to be gifted out to others as an expression of her Christ-like love toward everyone. In earlier years, she loved playing volleyball, was an avid doll collector and a faithful U.K. Basketball fan. Playing the piano at church every Sunday was another gift she used to expand her ministry but nothing brought her more fulfillment in life than spending time with her lovely family. Until her failing health, she was a faithful member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington, KY.
In addition to her husband of 70 years, Bro. Tom Mefford, she leaves to carry on her legacy of love and unselfish giving to her two daughters: Teri (John) Donohue of Columbia, SC, Sheri (Don) Bartholomew of Elizabethtown, KY; two sons: Tim (Gina) Mefford of Williamstown, KY, Chip (Christine) Mefford of California; 14 grandchildren: April (Clay) Turner, Jessica (Casey) King, Adam (Amanda) Bartholomew, Zack Mefford, Karrina (Denny) O’Toole, David (Darcy) Mefford, Joshua Donohue, Tara (Eric) Hanson, Jillian Bartholomew, Grant Bartholomew, Nick Switzer, Zach Switzer, Amber Johnson and Tanya Johnson, along with 15 great-grandchildren: Cody Turner, Kylie (Bryce) Clifton, Conner King, Saoirse King, Sheenagh King, Kellan King, Keely King, Piper Bartholomew, Gunner Bartholomew, Maddox Bartholomew, Breklynn Mefford, Palmer Switzer, Micaiah Courtney, Daniela O’Toole and Cooper Grimm (Donahue). Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Friday June 21, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. till 12 Noon at Stanley Funeral Homes - Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with Brother Charlie Delaney officiating. Entombment will follow in Williamstown Cemetery in Williamstown, KY.
