Reverend John "Jack" Clayton Pastore , 91, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday November 28, 2019.
John was born in Clinton, Indiana on May 4, 1928, to the late Bertha (Uselman) and John Pastore. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Pastore, whom he married on August 6, 1987 in Bay St. Louis, MS. Additional survivors include his children: Pamela (Dan) Fleming of Durham, NC, Bruce Pastore of Evansville, IN, Jacqueline (Darrell) Spears of Newburgh, IN, Tom Dean and Brian Dean, both of Evansville, IN and Denise (Barry) Robinson of Williamstown, KY Also surviving are his grandchildren: Alyssa Royster, Timothy (Ashley) Pastore and Olivia (Timothy) Golike, Clarissa Robinson, Carrie Robinson and Savannah Robinson; and great-grandchildren: Jack Royster, Daniel Royster, Hannah Pastore and Gabrielle Pastore.
John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Dacia Spears and his sister, Rosella Ferrell.
John served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1948, he was stationed in the Philippine Islands and also served in Japan. Following his service, he trained to be a pastor at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. John dedicated most of his life in devotion to his many congregations. In Evansville, he pastored at West Side Assembly of God beginning in 1966, then built Cornerstone Assembly of God in 1984. Later he pastored Waveland United Methodist Church in Waveland, MS. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown location) on Tuesday December 3, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Barry Robinson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. and go until the time of the funeral. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) in Williamstown, KY at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rev. Pastore’s memory to Williamstown United Methodist Church.
