Richard Lee Smith

Richard Lee Smith was born December 1, 1929 in Washington, Indiana and passed away October 2, 2024 in Union, Kentucky at the age of 94.  He was the son of the late Aloysius and Margaret Esther Scholl Smith.

On Oct. 28, 1950 Richard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marjorie Lee Hudson Smith, who preceded him in death in 2010.  He is survived by two sons: Michael (Patricia) Smith of Germantown, TN and Patrick (Susan) Smith of Verona; two daughters: Theresa Marie Sinise of Carmel, IN and Julie Underwood of Nashville, TN; a sister: Jackie Lee of Washington, IN; seven grandchildren: Kelly (Andrew) Lovelace, Kevin (Camille) Smith, Nathaniel (Taylor) Underwood, Katie (Tyler) Pate, Joe (Kelsey) Sinise, Benjamin Underwood and Maggie Smith; and four great grandchildren: Aidan Lovelace, Noah Smith, Madeline Smith and Olivia Smith.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patty Scott, and a granddaughter, Kendal Smith, in 2004.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from RCA in Quality Control.  In his spare time he loved working on cars, woodworking, and fixing electronics.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 62 Needmore St., Walton, KY  41094.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 PM, Friday, October 11, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church in Walton.  Burial with military honors will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
