Rita Roberts Starnes

Rita Joan Roberts Starnes, who was raised in Verona, KY and lived in Edgewood for 70 years, passed away at Rosedale Green in Covington, KY on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the age of 93.  She was the widow of the late Greg Lee "Hoag" Starnes.

Rita was born in Covington, KY on December 3, 1930 to the late George Roberts and Shirley Marie Beach Roberts.  She was united in marriage on April 9, 1949 to the late Greg Lee "Hoag" Starnes.  She was a life long member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, KY.  She was a former receptionist for Chemed Corp in Cincinnati for more than 15 years.  She loved to vacation at the beach, bowling, shopping, playing cards and games, flowers and was known for constantly going out with her friends and family.  She loved life, everything fancy, anything with bling and in her own words, " Anything that makes you 'GO!, GO!, GO!' ".

Rita is survived by her four sons, Gregory Starnes of Cincinnati, OH, Jeffrey (Susan) Starnes of Edgewood, KY, Phil Starnes of Ft. Wright, J. Todd (Cindy) Starnes of Taylor Mill, KY, nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2024 from 9am-11am at the Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia, KY.  Funeral will follow at 11am. Pastor's Eric Mounts and John Sheaffer will be officiating services.  A fellowship gathering and meal will be from 12-2pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 3711 Tibbatts St., Covington, KY 41015.
