Robert "Bob" Lee Murphy

Robert Lee “Bob” Murphy , 69, of Corinth, KY, passed away Thursday December 24, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Grant.  Born in Cincinnati, OH on Saturday June 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Arthur Ott and Pearl McQueen Murphy.

On July 31, 2016, Bob was united in marriage to the former Mary Jane Lewallen; she survives.  He was retired as an automobile mechanic. He loved fishing, working on cars and operating heavy equipment.  He was affectionately known as a “collector of many things”.  He was a member of the Williamstown Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mary Jane Murphy include two sons: Robert Eugene (Pam) Shafer of Cincinnati, OH, Robert Arthur (Rhonda) Murphy of Georgetown, KY; one daughter: Melissa (Jeremiah) McClellan of Batesville, IN; one step-daughter: Melissa Hausley of Walton, KY; one brother: Ray (Louann) Murphy of Portsmouth, OH; two sisters: Ora Lykins and Barbara Lee, both of Hephzibah, GA.  Ten grandchildren also survive: Robin Shafer, Maria Shafer, Chris Bausch, Drew Bausch, Mason Murphy, Ethan Murphy, Triston Murphy, Chris Hall, Drew Hall and Brayden McClellan, along with nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by four sisters: Edith Taylor (who passed on the same day as her brother, Robert), Juanita Bravo, Ruby Lynn Wheeler and Anna Fay Murphy.

A joint visitation/funeral will be held for Bob and his sister, Edith Taylor on Saturday January 2, 2021 at Williamstown Pentecostal Holiness Church (located at 749 South Main St. Williamstown, KY 41097) from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Patterson officiating.
