Robert E. Gouge

Robert E. Gouge of Crittenden, KY was born December 14, 1940 in Grant County, KY and died Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughters at the age of 82.

He was the son of the late William Layle and Thelma Taylor Gouge. Bobby farmed all his life. His happy place was on a tractor and looking after his cows. His family describes him as a hardworking, caring, and loving man. He was a strong provider for his family. He was united in marriage on Aug. 4, 1962 to Marilyn Sue Riddell, he worked at John Manfield factory in Florence for 30+ years. He was a dedicated member of the Williamstown Baptist church. In addition to his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Gouge and 1 sister, Kathryn Ryder.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Marilyn Sue Gouge. Together they had three daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Jansen of Crittenden, Brenda Gouge of Burlington, and Barbara (Dwayne) Gray of Crittenden; six grandchildren, Kyle Jansen, Casey Porter, Meghan Kinman, Jessica Kinman, Jackie Kinman, and Sara Saylor; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred (Lumy) Gouge of Villa Hills, Dennie (Kathy) Gouge of Corinth, and Steven (Lori) Gouge of Cordova; and three sisters, Janice Hutchinson of Florence, Linda (Virgil) Davis of Williamstown, and Pam Gouge of Georgetown, OH.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday 11:00am-2:00pm at the funeral home.
