Robert Bryn Hendrix was born December 24, 1933 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky and passed away February 27, 2025 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 91. He was the son of the late Otis Perry and Georgia Jane Metzler Hendrix.
Bob, as he was best known, retired from Piles Chevrolet as the Body Shop Manager but continued with his passion for cars at his own body shop at his home for many years. He was a long time member of Williamstown Baptist Church where he was a deacon emeritus. He also served his church family on the Bereavement Meals Committee and the Wednesday Night Meals. Bob was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Williamstown at the age of 16 alongside his future wife, Mi Jean.
He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including working on cars, riding his motorcycle and knife collecting. He was an avid fisherman and spent many days fishing with some of his closest friends. He was also a self taught harmonica player and always enjoyed playing for his family, especially at Christmas time. While he had many hobbies, Bob's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
On October 16, 1954 Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Reva Mi Jean West Hendrix, who preceded him in death on October 13, 2023. Bob is survived by two daughters: Sherry Kaye Hendrix Simpson of Williamstown and Bobbi Jayne Hendrix Hammons (Mark) of Williamstown; six grandchildren: Bobby (Melissa) Simpson, Brian (Kim) Simpson, Julie (Doug) Stanley, Hollie (Chad) Breeden, Dustin (Beth) Hammons, Jason (Natalie) Dunaway; 14 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gordon Douglas Simpson.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
