Robert A. Mitchell, Ii

Robert Anthony Mitchell , II , 49, of Dry Ridge, KY, died Friday March 19, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.  Born Friday April 16, 1971 in Danville, KY, he was the son of Gail Stone and the late Robert Anthony Mitchell , I.

On June 18, 1994, Robert was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Amy Renee Huse; she preceded him in death on September 22, 2011.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm, where he served as a Diesel Mechanic and Heavy Equipment Operator.  Hunting and fishing were two of his favorite pastimes, but his greatest joy came from his love for kids and animals.

He leaves to celebrate his legacy, his mother; Glenda “Gail” Stone of Dry Ridge; his sister: Nicki Barker and her partner, Brian Shirley of Union, along with his nieces and nephews: Katelyn Ashcraft, Summer Turner, Charles Barker, Erin Barker and Elizabeth Barker. In addition to his wife, Amy, he was preceded in death by the “father” that raised him from an early age, Garylin “Stoney” Stone.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 24 ^th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown location); funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 25 at 11:45 a.m. with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating.  Burial, with Full Military Honors, will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) in Williamstown; arrival time for burial is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
