Mr. Rodney Dean Colson of Corinth, KY. passed away Wednesday, August 19 at his residence at the age of 52. Rodney was born May 21, 1968 in Lexington, KY. to Jesse D. Colson, Jr. and Linda Perkins Colson. Rodney worked for Nelson Starks and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Ohio Operators Union local in Middletown, OH. In his free time he enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, fishing and in his younger years, softball. He is fondly remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother.
Rodney was preceded in death by grandfather: Jesse Colson, Sr. and by grandparents: Sylvia and Floyd Perkins.
Rodney is survived by his wife: Lori Simpson Colson, a daughter: Shelby Colson, a son: Sawyer Colson, and a step son: Austin Burton all of Corinth, KY., his parents: Jesse D. Colson, Jr. and Linda Perkins Colson of Corinth, KY. a sister: Valerie Prather, her husband Scott and nephews Jared and Jordan of Corinth, KY., his grandmother: Mendola Colson of Corinth, KY. and he has several aunts and uncles: Terry Colson of Williamstown, KY., Ronnie Colson of Mt. Zion, KY., Sharon Beach and her husband Tim of Mt. Zion, KY., Robert Colson of Williamstown, KY., Robin Colson and his wife Marlene of Corinth, KY., Angela McLafferty and her husband Pat of Williamstown, KY., Gary Perkins of Corinth, KY. and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Rodney Dean Colson will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, August 23 at the New Columbus Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Vincent officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 22 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm also at the New Columbus Baptist Church with additional visitation on Sunday the hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the New Columbus Cemetery. The McDaniel Funeral Home of Corinth, KY. has been entrusted with arrangements for Mr. Colson.
