Roger Leland Peter Smith

Roger Leland Peter Smith , 78, a Burlington resident, formerly of Crittenden, KY, died Saturday October 26, 2019 at Florence Park Care Center. Born October 3, 1941 in Culver City, CA, he was the son of the late Harry Leland Peter and Myrtle Evelyn DeWitt Smith.

On July 6, 1968, he was united in marriage to the former Jennie Gullion; she preceded him in death on August 25, 2016. He was a licensed Social Worker with the State of Kentucky and a member of Crittenden Christian Church.  He was passionate about helping others and writing.  He wrote many short stories and was working on a book.

Survivors include a son: Blake Smith of Burlington and a sister: Tosca Smith of Covington, KY. Two grandchildren Keisha Smith, Zian Smith and one great-grandchild, Amithest Smith also survive.

A memorial service will be held Friday November 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Crittenden Christian Church with Rev. Cindy Wallace officiating.
