Ronald Davis West of Williamstown, KY was born April 29, 1948 in Dry Ridge, KY and died Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in Edgewood, KY at the age of 76 years.
He was the son of the late Cecil Owen and Ruby Davis West and was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church. Ronald devoted his life to working in Law Enforcement, retiring from the Kentucky State Police where he was an Arson Investigator and Hazardous Device Detective. Throughout his career, he had also been Chief of Police for the City of Dry Ridge, City of Williamstown, a Deputy and Bailiff with the Grant County Sheriff's Office, and an agent with Alcohol and Beverage Control. He was also a former Williamstown City Council Member, a member of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council, a Kentucky Colonel and an Auctioneer; he was co-owner of "Old Time" Auctioneer Service. On November 1, 1980 he was united in marriage to his wife, Darlene Baxter West. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Hassman.
Surviving is his wife, Darlene Baxter West of Williamstown; one son, Aaron Christopher (Rachelle) West of Florence; one daughter, Crystal (Jamey) Fryman of Dry Ridge; three grandchildren, Corey Fryman, Victoria Fryman, and Leo West; and one brother Tommy “T.J.” (Kelly) West of Williamstown.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Monday, July 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.
