Rosemary McIntosh , 91, died Saturday June 29, 2019 at the Owenton Center. Born March 8, 1928 in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mayme Elizabeth Hall McIntosh.
Before she became a Secondary School English teacher in Indiana, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, she worked as a Central Office Telephone Operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company in Miami, FL. She served in the U.S. Army in the WACS (also known as Signal Corps) during the Korean Conflict. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University and her Master’s Degree from the University of Central Missouri. She was a member of the Unity School of Christianity in Unity, MO.
Survivors include one daughter: Ann Elizabeth Anderson Atry of Seattle, WA and one son: John Stephen Anderson, lately of Reno, NV. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive, along with a great-great-grandchild on the way. She was a cousin to former U.K. Basketball Coach Joe B. Hall of Cynthiana, KY. She was preceded in death by two husbands: John Harvey Anderson and Claude Bates.
On Wednesday July 3, 2019, a committal service will be held at KY Veteran Cemetery – North in Williamstown, KY at 1:00 p.m.
