Ruth Eloise Evans

Ruth E. Evans of Mt. Pisgah Community of Williamstown, KY was born Thursday, June 16, 1927 in Dry Ridge, KY and died Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the St Elizabeth Hospital, Grant County at the age of 92.

She was the daughter of the late James and Lula M. Jump Burnette, a homemaker and farmer, and a member of the Clarks Creek Baptist Church. On February 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to her husband John Roscoe Evans who preceded her in death on July 26, 2002.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by 4 sibling, Stella Grubbs, William Updike, Jeff Updike, and Phillip Updike.

Surviving is 2 daughters, Brenda Pettit of Dry Ridge and Barbara Brophy of Williamstown; 2 grandchildren, Thomas (Mandy) Pettit of Dry Ridge and Lisa (Earnie) Carter of Williamstown; 7 great-grandchildren, Griffin Pettit, Tyler Pettit, Haley Hester, Jayde Carter, Christian Carter, Andrea Carter and Shandra Carter; 2 great great-grandchildren, Jenna and Meekah Phillips; and 1 sister, Mary Sue Pyles of Stamping Ground, KY.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday, 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
