Samuel Delbert Johnson

Mr. Samuel Delbert Johnson of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Sunday, November 10 at home at the age of 79.  Mr. Johnson was born March 25, 1940 in Florence, KY. to the late Sam Johnson and Della Tipton Johnson.  Mr. Johnson was a retired supervisor for Equitable/Duro Bag Company.  Mr. Johnson loved being outdoors working the ground with his tractor.  He is fondly remembered by his family as being an animal lover and currently had 3 dogs.  He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers and working on the tractor.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son: Samuel David Johnson in 2015 and by brothers: Eddie Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Noah Johnson and James Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by sisters: Della Mae Graziani, Geneva Maines, Lillian Sebastian, Dorothy Sebastian and Della Isabul.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his fiance, Judy Morris, who he affectionately referred to as "My Everything."  He is also survived by a daughter: Vicky Lynn Locke and her husband John of Crittenden, KY., sons: Steven Douglas Johnson of Dry Ridge, KY., Robert Dale Johnson and his wife Darla of Union, KY., David Edward Morris of Crittenden, KY., brothers: Richard Johnson of Corinth, KY., George Woodrow Johnson of Covington, KY., sisters: Mildred Elliott of Warsaw, KY., Sharon Freeman of Florence, KY., 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Delbert Johnson will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, November 14 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge, KY. 41035 with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating.  Visitation will also be on Thursday, November 14 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.  Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the Grant County Animal Shelter.
