Sharon Denise Bowen

Sharon Denise Bowen, a resident of Pearl River, Louisiana, died Sunday, September 4th, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Grant County in Williamstown, KY, at the age of 63. Daughter of the late James Edwin Powers and Martha Saline Twitty, she was born in Columbus, Georgia on Tuesday, October 21st, 1958.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ardie Thomas Bowen, who she was united in marriage to on February 21st, 1976. She is also survived by her two sons: Brian Bowen of Avondale, LA, and Michael Jason (Stacy) Bowen of Carriere, MS; three brothers: James (Linda) Powers of Dawsonville, GA, Larry (Renee) Powers of Picayune, MS, Bill Powers of Rome, GA; as well as her two sisters, Sue (Fred) Hastings of Rome, GA, and Peggy Powers (Steve Wells) of Temple, GA.

Sharon made a career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service until her retirement. She was a member of the Pearl River United Methodist Church in Pearl River, LA. Her most enjoyable hobbies included playing cards and going to the casino. She adored working in her flower garden and traveling, especially sailing away on a cruise with Ardie.

Her greatest love in life was the precious time spent with her grandchildren. Sharon leaves behind the legacy of her four grandchildren, Tyler Bowen, Isabella Bowen, Seth Borne, and Cayden Lopez.

Services for Mrs. Bowen will be held at the convenience of the family.
