Sharon Hummel Marcum

Mrs. Sharon Hummel Marcum, a Dry Ridge resident, gracefully passed on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Grant County, KY at the age of 77.  She was the widow of Richard Marcum.

On February 16, 1942, Sharon Lee Hummel was born in Rochester, NY to the late Oadas C. Hummel and Irene F. Mize Hummel.  Later in life she married Richard Robert Marcum. Sharon is survived by three daughters, Valerie Wendorf (Jim) of Almont, MI, Jenny Hodges (Troy) of Dry Ridge, KY, Margie Lewis (Marty) of Almont, MI, one brother, James Hummel of Ludlow, KY, two sisters, Susan Harp of Hamilton, OH, Joyce Ozepy of Erlanger, KY, seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Kurt, Jake, Travis, Serena, Andrew, Sophia and one great-granddaughter, Audrey.   In addition to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Hummel.

Mrs. Marcum was a homemaker for most of her life.  She loved to read, flower gardening and to sew.  Her family describes her as a woman with a big, warm heart, whom was loving, caring and giving.  Most importantly throughout life, she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 11am-12noon.  Funeral Services will follow at noon.  Services will be held at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030.  Burial will follow at 1:45pm at the St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45238.
