Sharon Eileen Thompson

January 18, 1945 — February 8, 2025

Sharon Eileen Thompson, age 80, of Florence, Kentucky went to meet her Lord Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.  She is survived by her nephew: Jeff Thompson (Chanin) of Lexington, Kentucky; nieces: Andrea, (Michael) Reed of Lexington, Kentucky, Debbie (Eric) Wright of Louisville, Kentucky and Barbara (Ron) Camblin of Orlando, Florida; a sister-in-law: Mae Pat Thompson of Lexington, Kentucky; cousins: Gerald (Ruth) Denny of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Steve and (Miran) Denny of Chicago, Illinois, Jana Denny Dickinson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marjorie Price of Knoxville, Tennessee; Tommy (Nancy) Crawley of Knoxville, Tennessee, Francis Vath of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nadine Howard of Florence, Kentucky, Kay Denny Myers of Lexington, Kentucky, Michelle (Colin) Ashley, Cincinnati, Ohio, Melanie (Steve) Mizeres, Cincinnati, Ohio, Allison (Andy) O'Conner, Cincinnati, Ohio, Ashley (Jason) Vallicott, Orlando, Florida, Justin (Amanda) Camblin, Knoxville, Tennessee; niece: Sandy Howard, of Cincinnati, OH; life long loving friends who, we are very thankful, loved and cared for our Aunt Sharon: Carol Haynes and Carol McDaniel; and many other loving family and friends

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Harry J. and Thelma Denny Thompson, three brothers, Gary C., Terry A. and Joe W. Thompson.

She was a retired high school teacher having taught 13 years at Harrison County High School in Cynthiana, KY, 20 years at Dixie Heights High School in Crestview Hills, KY, after retirement in 2000, 7 years at Conner High School for a total of 40 years as an educator.  She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with an undergraduate degree, Rank III, and graduate Rank II, and Georgetown College with post graduate Rank I.  She was life member of UK Alumni Association and Wildcat Society.

Sharon was raised in Grant County at Stringtown, KY and attended the Stringtown Christian Church with her family, and was baptized at the age of 10 by Bro. Wayne B. Smith.  After moving to Northern Kentucky she became a member of The First Church of Christ, Burlington in 1983 where she volunteered in various programs.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY  41097.  She will be laid to rest beside her parents in the Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Church of Christ, American Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
