Sherry Lynn “Lynnie” Spicer, 48, of Lexington, formerly of Florence, passed away after a life-long struggle with Cerebral Palsy on Saturday September 18, 2021. Born Sunday August 19, 1973 at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas, KY, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Mae Spicer.
“Lynnie” as she was affectionately known and loved, had attended Redwood School and Rehabilitation in Fort Mitchell. Because of their teachings, she was able to achieve a certain level of independence and reach her potential.
Because of a sad and tragic house fire, at a young age, she lost her mother and four siblings. Her grandparents, Darsie McKinley and Ruthie Herald Spicer; were left with the challenge of raising Sherry and a sister; they did so in a loving and caring manner until they were not able to continue their care.
Survivors include one sister, Vicki (Jon) Tyner of Cincinnati and three uncles: Donald (Patricia) Spicer, Ronald (Gay Lynn) Spicer, both of Burlington and Selbon Spicer of Taylor Mill. She was preceded in death by her mother: Sarah Mae Spicer; her maternal grandparents: Darsie and Ruthie Spicer; and four siblings: Michael Farmer, Steven Farmer, Shonda Lynn Farmer, and Jamie Lynn Farmer.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, KY at 11:00 a.m.
