Shirley Mae Shepherd

Shirley Mae Shepherd, 86, of Lawrenceburg, KY, slipped into her eternal rest Thursday December 29, 2022 in Georgetown, KY.  Born Monday July 20, 1936 in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Harlan and Myrtie Mae Denney Davis.

On June 29, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to William Paul Shepherd; he preceded her in death on March 13, 2013.  She served as a Sales Clerk for Emerson Bakery in Florence. She loved spending time in her flower garden; she also had a special love for her dogs and lighthouses.  She was a 1955 graduate of Dixie High School in New Lebanon, OH.  Having a genuine love for the Lord, she used her talents and gifts in her ministry through Gideon’s International (Boone-West), Florence Community Nazarene Church and most recently, her current church, Ninevah Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.  She will best be remembered as being a virtuous woman, especially as a wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful servant.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Scott (Heather) Shepherd of Lawrenceburg, KY, Joel T.G. (Cheryl) Shepherd of Hebron, KY; one daughter: Robin (Gregory) Middleton of Lawrenceburg along with 6 grandchildren: Candace (Ryan) Warner, Crystal Middleton, Brittney (Joseph) Franchino, Brandyn Shepherd, Hannah (Greg) Nottingham, Jacob (Breanna) Shepherd and seven great-grandchildren: Kyle Warner, Landon Warner, Caitlin Warner, Magnolia Franchino, Nicholas Franchino, Lorin Nottingham and Allison Nottingham.  In addition to her husband of 56 years, William Paul Shepherd, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Leondus Davis and infant Donnie Davis.

Visitation will be held Wednesday January 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. till 12 Noon at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown).  Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with her two sons officiating: Bro. Scott Shepherd and Bro. Joel Shepherd. Interment will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-North in Williamstown with an arrival time of 2:00.
