Sondra Lee Jenkins Hudgins

Sondra Lee Hudgins, 79, of Owenton, KY, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Edgewood. She was a beacon of love, kindness and strength, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. Born on July 19, 1945 in Clermont County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ward Lee and Mildred Pauline Rhodus Jenkins.

Sondra was a 1963 graduate of Owen County High School. For many years she served as a Secretary for Farm Bureau in Williamstown. Afterwards she became a Mutual Funds Representative for Fidelity Investments in Cincinnati. Being musically inclined, she took much pleasure in various forms of music; she enjoyed playing the piano, as well as other instruments including the dulcimer. Sewing and making clothes for the family were also interests she enjoyed. Being involved in the lives of her children was important to her; which included such interests as teaching Vacation Bible School and being a part of Band Boosters. However, her greatest joy and fulfillment came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She will long be remembered for her positive character traits and warm, gentle spirit. Her faith and hope were in the Lord in whom she loved and served so faithfully over the years. When she was not physically able to be in her church at El Bethel Christian Church in Owenton, she loved attending virtually.

She is survived by her loving family, including her daughters: Carey Lee (Jack) Tamplin of Owenton, KY, Amber Hudgins Vann of Ft. Thomas, KY and her adorable grandchildren, whom lovingly called her “Gram”: Austin Jared (Mariah) Vann, Abagail Carissa Vann, Samantha Lee Tamplin (her fiancé’ John Towles ) and Jacob Curtis Tamplin. On May 6, 2024, she was preceded in death by a son: Christopher Paul Hudgins; being the last of her siblings to pass, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Price Jenkins, Danny Jenkins, Robin Jenkins and two sisters: Darlene Carter and Laura Joann Conway.

Friends and family may visit on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at El Bethel Christian Church in Owenton from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Pastor Forrest Hahn officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Owenton.
