Sophia Pennington

Sophia Pennington of Dry Ridge, KY was born November 3, 1932 in Tyner, KY and died Monday, July 15, 2024 in Edgewood, KY at the age of 91 years.

She was the daughter of the late George and Sudie Mae Reece Cavins. She was a homemaker, a member of the Fairview Christian Church, and she attended the Sherman Church of Christ. On Nov. 5, 1950 she was united in marriage to her husband, James Ray Pennington, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2017.

Survivors: son, James David (Pam) Pennington of Dry Ridge; daughter, Connie (Wayne) Rice of Williamstown; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, followed by burial in the Williamstown Cemetery. Visitation will also be Friday, 11:00am-2:00pm at the funeral home.
