Stanley Lee Woodyard

Mr. Stanley Lee Woodyard, a Williamstown resident, passed peacefully away at his residence on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the age of 76.

Mr. Woodyard was a former construction manager for KY State Parks and retired as owner/contractor of Woodyard Construction in Williamstown, KY. He was a former member of the Williamstown City Council, a member of the Williamstown Kiwanis Club, loved woodworking, gardening, painting, artwork, dirt track racing and the outdoors.

On February 28, 1942, Stanley was born to the late Wilbur “Bo” Woodyard and Goldie Sargent Woodyard in Williamstown, KY. On May 31, 1993 Stanley married Linda Akers Woodyard.  In addition to his wife, Linda, Stanley is survived by two sons, A.T. Woodyard (Teri) of Dry Ridge, KY, Travis Woodyard (Tisha) of Dry Ridge, KY, three daughters, Lisa Woodyard of Rabbit Hash, KY, Lanette Whalen (Les) of Williamstown, KY, Samantha Mayhan (Phillip) of Williamstown, KY, step daughter, Deana Lewis (Sam) of Williamstown, KY, one sister, Betty Sue Chesler of McHenry, IL, son in law Ron Sechrest, two nieces, Lolita (Kevin) Christenson, Carol Napier, twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Stanley is preceded in death by his daughter Lori Lee Sechrest.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10am-2pm at the Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY 41097. Memorials services will follow at 2pm. Bro. Gary Swick will be officiating services. Private burial will take place in the Woodyard family cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Animal Shelter.
