Thomas Elwood Shoup of Dry Ridge, Kentucky

Thomas Elwood Shoup , Sr ., 76, a resident of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2019 at his residence. Born in Dayton, OH on July 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mabel Wysong Shoup.

On December 31, 1976 in Xenia, OH, he was married to the former Carol Sue McPherson; she survives. Tom retired in 2003 from Industrial Waste Disposal where he worked, as his daughter, Jona, would so often say, as a “Garbiologist”. He loved racing – of all kinds, Red’s Baseball and Bengal’s Football, but his favorite enjoyment was watching his grandson play football. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Carol, include: two sons: Thomas Elwood Shoup, Jr., Jeffrey Scott (Michelle) Boggs, both of Xenia, OH and two daughters: Terry Lynn Shoup of Xenia, OH and Jona Sue (Gary) Herzner of Dry Ridge, KY. Sixteen grandchildren also survive, along with 2 great-grandchildren. He was prceded in death by one brother: Robert Shoup.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown, has been entrusted with Tom's arrangements.
