Thomas James "Tom" Stanley of Williamstown, Kentucky passed away Thursday morning, October 12th, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife, after courageously battling lung cancer for the last three and a half years; he was fifty three years old. He was born on Saturday, December 20th, 1969 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to Caroline Lynch and the late Thomas Stanley Sr.
Tom grew up here in Grant County, graduating from Grant County High School with the class of 1987. Following school, he attended HVAC tech school earning his Journeyman's License. Tom worked as a dedicated employee with Howe Heating and Cooling for almost 28 years.
Tom is described as a very quiet, kind, and hardworking man by those that knew him best in life. A "Good Guy", a "Gentle Giant", a man that nobody ever had a bad word to say about. He was loved by so many people: his family, the community, his friends- especially his "2 a.m. Friends." Tom enjoyed going to car shows. He loved going out to eat, to any and all restaurants, especially when surrounded by family and friends around the table. Although he was a man of few words, he lead by example. He instilled within those that knew him best, words of wisdom such as: "dessert is always a good idea", "never let your gas tank get below a quarter tank", and he proved that "some men are dependable."
A member of The Mount (Mount Olivet Christian Church) here in Williamstown, KY, it was through the introduction by a mutual friend that Tom would meet his future wife, Carol. On June 13th, 2014 the two had their first second date, that would lead to a connection that felt beyond just two people meeting, but one in which two people have been brought together. The amount of love these two shared could not only be seen, but felt when in their presence and hearing them talk of one another. Together they could enjoy each other's company and comfortably share a silence who's space was filled with quiet adoration and affection. Carol, a social butterfly herself, said that sharing this beautiful life with Tom "taught me how to be quiet." On Sunday, November 13th, 2022, Tom and Carol united their eternal love in marriage. They would have celebrated their first wedding anniversary next month.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife Carol, his mother Caroline Lynch, his uncle Kenneth Lynch of Dry Ridge, KY; as well as his son Randall Stanley of Crittenden, KY, and his two daughters: Emily (Bryan) Smiley of Dry Ridge, KY and Megan (Drew) Harris of Williamstown, KY. He leaves a lasting legacy of his two cherished Grandchildren: Lydia Grace Harris and Beau Walker Thomas Harris. Baby Beau was born 14 minutes prior to Tom passing on October 12th.
