Mr. Tony L. Smith of Crittenden, KY. passed away Wednesday, November 8 at his residence at the age of 74. Tony was born in Monticello, KY. on November 17, 1948 to the late Joseph Milton Smith and Cora Short Smith. Tony was a long time florist and co-owner and operator of the Ivy Leaf Florist in Dry Ridge, KY. He formerly worked at the Family Gardens Florist in Florence, KY. and worked along side his parents in the Milt and Son Florist in Dry Ridge. Tony proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. Tony was an avid gardener and enjoying growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables. In his younger days he enjoyed outdoor pursuits including hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Smith. Tony is survived by a daughter: Kimberly Epperson and her husband Tim of Williamstown, KY., a son: Corey Smith and his wife Mallory of Burlington, KY., one step daughter Rami Ballinger and her husband Kyle, one step son, Ben Gavin and his wife Kathleen; two sisters: Virginia "Sissy" Fields and her husband Wayne of Arizona, Vikki Shelton and her husband Jeff of Crittenden, KY. Tony was the proud grandfather of six: Brittany Feck and her husband Kaleb, Adam Epperson and his wife Ashton, Heidi Smith, Claire Smith, Emma Ballinger, Maren Gavin, a granddaughter on the way and a great granddaughter on the way. Funeral services for Mr. Tony L. Smith will be conducted 10:30 am Wednesday, November 15 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge, KY. 41035 with Rev. Wayne Rice officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown.
