Trina Catherine Varnado, 60, of Williamstown, KY, passed away unexpectedly Thursday July 8, 2021 St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Room – Grant County. Born on Friday July 22, 1960 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late James Isaac and Mavis Eudell Linderman Vanover.
On November 6, 2015, Trina was united in marriage to Thomas Madison Varnado; he survives. She spend much of her life as a SRNA (State Registered Nurses Assistant) starting out in Michigan, later working at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana and at Grant Manor. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Thomas, include two sons: Stephen Michael (Maggie) Shepard of Falmouth, David Isaac (Sandy) Shepherd of Cynthiana; two step-sons: Greg Martin, Ronald Martin of Florida; six step-daughters: Tracy (Todd) Crocker of Cynthiana, Anita (Daniel) Floyd of Cynthiana, Devon Lanham of Indiana, Sheila Martin of Berry, Catherine Martin of Williamstown, Christina Wamsley of Mt. Zion; one brother: Jerry Lee Vanover of Williamstown and three sisters: Susan Caldwell of Dry Ridge, Sandra Beach of Dry Ridge and Connie Williams – Arnett (Johnny) of Williamstown. Thirty-nine grandchildren and 8 great-grand-children also survive. She was preceded in death by a brother: James Floyd Vanover.
The family would like to express special appreciation to Curly and Doris Florence, owners of Iva’s Red Barn for the many acts of kindness and compassion they have shown over the years toward Trina, Thomas and their family. Trina served as a bartender there for 14 years.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Sunday August 1, 2021 at Iva's Red Barn, located at 9261 Sate Hwy 1032, Berry, KY, from noon till 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Trina’s memory, directly to the funeral home, toward the funeral expenses.
