Vella "Donna" Wilson Sexton

Mrs. Vella Donna Wilson Sexton, a Florence, KY resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care Unit in Edgewood, KY on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the age of 76.  She was the widow of the late Rodney Delano Sexton.

Donna was born in Covington, KY on August 3, 1945 to the late Basil Wilson and Vella Corene Wilson.  She is survived by one son, Rodney Dale Sexton, one daughter Aleila (Andy) Sper, two sisters, Betty Taylor, Velma (Junior) Jump, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  In addition to her late husband Rodney, Donna is preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Sexton.

Donna was a retired Caterer.  She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona. She loved flower gardening and is described as having "two" green thumbs.  She loved to travel and take vacations, movies, crossword puzzles and loved pets.  She was known for her cooking and baking capabilities, especially her lemon meringue pie.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hamilton Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.
