Velva Jerene Caldwell

Velva Jerene Caldwell , 88, of Owen Co, KY, died Monday March 9, 2020 at Owenton Center. Born November 16, 1931 in Grant County; she was the daughter of the late Robert Walker and Nellie Gray Sergeant Vendler.

Velva was married on December 20, 1952 to Denver Caldwell; he preceded her in death on December 5, 2005. She a housewife and homemaker who dedicated herself to caring, loving and nurturing her family and creating a loving atmosphere for the home. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church on Golds Valley Road.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Eugene (Sherry) Caldwell of Owenton, KY, Buddy Caldwell of Owenton, KY; two daughters: Veneda (Ricky) Smith of Owenton, KY and Melissa (Don) Crosswaite of Cynthiana, KY. Eleven grandchildren also survive: Duane (Billie June) Smith, Derek Smith, Chelsee Smith, Brent Caldwell, Amy (Keith) McRay, Jarrod (Katie) Caldwell, Joseph Caldwell, Robert Caldwell, Denver Caldwell, James Caldwell and Aaron Crosswaite, along with 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom affectionately loved heras “Mamaw” and “Mamaw Buddy”. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert L. Vendler, Kenneth Vendler and a granddaughter: Ashley Crosswaite.

Visitation will be Friday March 13, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. till the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown location. Burial will follow in Jonesville Masonic Cemetery.
