Viola Abbott Cook

May 20, 1930 — November 4, 2020

Mrs. Viola Abbott Cook, a Williamstown resident, passed away at the Woodcrest Rehab and Nursing Facility in Elsmere on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 90.  She was the widow of the late James Woodrow Cook.

Viola was born on May 20, 1930 to the late Buell Abbott and Roberta Wright.  She was united in marriage to James Woodrow Cook on May 31, 1946.  She was a former factory worker for Essex in Georgetown and a former cook at Grant County Hospital.  She was a faithful member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church.

Viola is survived by one son, James "Kenny" (Maria) Cook of Pinellas Park, FL, two daughters, Shirley F. Wilson of Dry Ridge, KY, Brenda J. (Roger) Fornash of Dry Ridge, KY, one brother, Franklin D. Abbott of Carrollton, KY, three sisters, Ruth Cook of Lawrenceburg, KY, Kathryn Dews of Cincinnati, OH, Linda Norris Fletcher of Morganton, NC, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Ellen King, Lola Pearl Abbott, and Betty Sue Race.

Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2020 from 11am-12pm at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Burial will follow at 1pm at the KY Veteran's Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.  Rev. Jay Holt will be officiating services.  Memorials are suggested to the Lawrenceville Baptist Church.
