Vyron “Tinker” Shelby Chadwell, 68, of Dry Ridge, KY, entered his eternal home on Wednesday July 10, 2024 at his residence after a brief illness. Born on June 16, 1956 in Richmond, KY, he was the son of the late Vyron Fayette and Norma Jean Ward Chadwell.
On November 7, 1976 he was united in marriage to the former Brenda Sue Stinson; a union that lasted almost 49 years. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army. For the past 18 years he worked at Sterling Materials in Verona where he served as a Plant Operator in the Control Tower. “Tinker, as well affectionately known, was a special man that had the unique ability of making everybody feel good about themselves; he leaves a tremendous legacy to his family and friends. He will long be remembered as a hard-working, dedicated individual that loved to bring laughter into the lives of everyone he touched; he was committed to his work, loved people but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, all of whom called him “Papaw”. His love for being a “jokester” radiated into the lives of his children and grandchildren. “Friends come and go but family is forever” became a catch-phrase that caused him to focus on the importance and true meaning of family. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and U.K. fan and love collecting baseball cards.
Those left to carry on “Tinker’s” legacy include: his wife, Brenda Chadwell; four sons: Michael Shelby (Katie) Chadwell of Union, KY, Jeremy Lee (Amy) Chadwell of Bardstown, KY, Jamie (Robin) Chadwell of Walton, KY, Matthew (Natosha Powers) Chadwell of Cynthiana; one daughter, Hidie Riley of Crittenden; one brother: Ronald Chadwell of Jacksonville, FL, one half-brother, Vyron Chadwell, Jr, and two sisters: Stephanie (late Jesse) Proctor of Newport, KY and Lawanda (late James) Caudill.
