Wanda Lee Beach

Wanda Lee King Beach was born June 11, 1942, in Covington, Kentucky. She passed away at the age of 82 quietly at home November 9, 2024, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky.

Wanda grew up on a small dairy farm in Dry Ridge, Kentucky with her parents George R. and Katie Bell Henage King, 2 older brothers – Ronnie and Paul and her younger brother – David.

After graduating from Grant County High School, she worked as a server at The Little Shrimp in Dry Ridge, Kentucky. She then started working in bookkeeping at Central Trust Bank in Cincinnati, OH.

Wanda married Jerry W. Beach in 1961 at the age of 19 and later had 2 children, Steven and Nancy. They moved to Columbia, South Carolina for few years where she worked as a homemaker and Cub Scout Den Mother.  The family returned to Kentucky in 1973 and Wanda worked at Town & Country and Danny’s Restaurants in Dry Ridge.  She also worked with Jerry as an EMT for Grant County Ambulance Service. In 1979 Wanda started at Grant County Deposit Bank in bookkeeping and later as bank teller and then Vice President of the branch bank. She retired in 2006 but filled-in when needed for a few years.

Wanda loved spending time with family and friends, watching Blue Bloods, CSI, Swat, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Survivor, working word finder puzzles, listening to The Statler Brothers, Vestal Goodman, The Gaithers; keeping up with family and friends on Facebook, going on fishing trips with Jerry, snorkeling trips (especially by plane) with Nancy to Fiji, Turks and Caicos, San Salvador, Cayman Brac, Dominica and amazing family trips to Belize and Myrtle Beach.  She enjoyed being a part of Grant County Homemakers, filling shoeboxes and backpacks for Christmas Missions and attending Vine Run Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Jerry W. Beach of Dry Ridge, KY; son, Steven (Linda) Beach of Dry Ridge, KY; daughter, Nancy Beach of Alexandria, KY;  brother David (Sylvia) King of Winchester, KY;  brother-in-law Herbert Tom Beach of Dry Ridge, KY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald W. King, Paul D. (Patricia) King, and sister-in-law Nina F. Beach.

Wanda’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience and generosity in those who lives she touched.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Elliston Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at the funeral home in Williamstown with Bro. David Foley officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Vine Run Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.
