Wanda Bowen Meece

Wanda Bowen Meece, a Williamstown resident, passed away at her residence on Monday March 6, 2023 at the age of 82.  She was the widow of the late Charles Meece, Sr.

Wanda was born on December 17, 1940 to the late Alfie Bowen and Golda Vannarsdall.  She married Charles Meece on March 15, 1958.  She was a homemaker most of her life.  She enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling to the Smokey mountains, watching NASCAR and soap operas, and vegetable canning.  She loved to cook and is known for her pancakes, banana pudding, raisin pie, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and her stuffing.

Wanda is survived by four sons, Charles (Gayle) Meece, Jr., Gary ‘Robin’ Meece, Justin ‘Dan’ Meece, Robert ‘Gene’ (Stacy) Meece, one daughter, Lena (James) Skinner, two brothers, Paul and Steve Bowen, two sisters, Marilyn Smitzer, Cheryl Leach, eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by two sons, James ‘Jim’ Meece, Guy ‘Matthew’ Meece, two brothers, Bobby and Jack Bowen, and one grandson, Dustin.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4-7pm at the Eckler McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge, Ky.  Funeral will be Friday, March 10, 2023 at 1pm at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Demossville, KY.  Rev. Mark Boettcher will be officiating services.  Burial will follow at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
