Wayne Switzer

Russell Wayne Switzer was born August 23, 1937 in Corinth, Kentucky and passed away August 7, 2024 at his residence in Corinth, KY at the age of 86.  He was the son of the late Russell "Buck" Switzer and Elvadis Marguerite Wainscott Switzer.

Wayne retired from Cincinnati Bell as an installer and repairman.  He was a faithful member of the Corinth Christian Church as well as a member of the NRA and former member of the Telephone Pioneers.  In his free time, he was an avid deer hunter and always enjoyed working on his farm and watching NASCAR.

On Feb. 20, 1959 Wayne was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rena Faye McAtee Switzer.  In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by two sons: Scott (Susan) Switzer of Williamstown and Shane Switzer of Corinth; two daughters: Carol (Allan) Stormes of Georgetown and Mia Stamper of Corinth; two brothers: Ray (Gloria) Davis Switzer of Gulf Breeze, FL and Bobby Switzer of Williamstown; 9 grandchildren: Scott (Tammy) Switzer, Savannah (Eldon) Maddox, Kasi (Chris) Mitchell, Alexandra (Andrew) Hurley, Chase Michael Stamper, Nicholas (Maria) Switzer, Zachary (Ali) Switzer, Joseph Bachman and Brittany Bachman; and 10 Great Grandchildren: Nolan Switzer, Jonas Switzer, Levi Maddox, Laura Maddox, Palmer Switzer, Liam Mitchell, Addy Mitchell, Amelia Hurley, Nora Hurley and Lucy Hurley.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Switzer.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024 at McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 12, 2024 at Corinth Christian Church, 330 Old Corinth Owenton Rd., Corinth, KY  41010.  Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery.
