William "Bill" Ira Chipman

William “Bill” Ira Chipman , 84, of Crittenden, KY, passed away Saturday April 25, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Edgewood after a brief illenss. Born in Grant County on March 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Otis and Virginia Sargent Chipman.

On Christmas Day 1954, he was united in marriage to the former Betty Coe Black; she preceded him in death on March 2, 2012.

Bill worked for Fedder's Feed for over 20 years and retired from Beaver Sales and Service in Latonia. Upon retirement, he spent much of his time farming and fishing. Fishing became a big part of his life. He enjoyed people, joking with them and having a fun time, making the best of any situation. He was a longtime member of Big Bone Baptist Church in Union, KY.

Survivors include two sons: Charles “Chuck” (Lisa) Chipman of Burlington, KY, Darrell Chipman of Crittenden, KY; three sisters: Pat Shelton of Florence, KY, Libby Goodridge of Hebron, KY and Kathy Marsh of Independence, KY. Two grandchildren also survive: Shianne Black and Craig Ravenscraft, along with five great-grandchildren: Logan Ravenscraft, Madelynn Ravenscraft, Brianna Ravenscraft, Liam Rhorer and Katelynd Coe Chipman. He was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby Chipman and a daughter: Connie Sue Black.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public visitation. However, there will be a drive-thru rolling visitation at Big Bone Baptist Church on Saturday May 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. NO ONE will be allowed to get out of their vehicles during this drive-by visitation!!! Private graveside services will follow (for family only).
